Europe’s newest, leading kraft paper producer: Starkraft at the Interpack in Düsseldorf

It was only a few months ago that the new kraft paper machine of the Zellstoff Pöls AG went into full operation. It is the largest and most modern kraft paper machine in Europe and produces over 80.000 tons of high quality, white kraft paper, traded under the name of Starkraft.
From 08th-14th May 2014 Starkraft will be presenting itself and products to the customers at the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf.

Improved performance at all levels
The investment of 115 Mio Euro was an investment well made by the Heinzel Group: “We are pleased that the new paper machine is running very smoothly and producing a high quality bleached kraft paper, branded under the name of Starkraft.”, says Mr. Werner Hartmann, Managing Director of Starkraft. “Our high quality expectations have been far exceeded; due to the world’s largest welded high precision drying cylinder - our Yankee Cylinder– the paper’s smoothness and strengths far exceed what is normally expected.

Starkraft sets new environmental standards
In comparison to the paper industry standards Starkraft paper boasts an exceedingly low carbon footprint. “The integration of the pulp mill and paper machine not only guarantees the supply of raw material, but also supports an energy efficient production because the pulp drying process and transport are not necessary”, states Werner Hartmann. This makes it possible to obtain a Carbon Footprint that lies considerably lower than the values obtained in comparable plants. The parameters for other emissions have also been improved considerably.

Flying Rhino at the Interpack
From 08th-14th May 2014 Starkraft will be presenting its different papers for the first time to interested
customers. “We are looking forward to showing our range of products and having the opportunity to
talk to our customers directly and gain their requirements” said Mr. Hartmann. And present as always:
the Flying Rhino, the symbol for the strength and flexibility of the Austrian based company Starkraft.
