Heinzel Holding sells its remaining 25% participation in Lenzing Biocel Paskov to Lenzing AG

Proceeds to be reinvested in Austria in projects for the future

As planned, Heinzel Holding GmbH sold its remaining 25% participation in the Lenzing Biocel Paskov a.s. pulp mill, which is located in the Czech Republic, to the listed, Upper Austrian fiber producer, Lenzing. The mill had been part of the Heinzel Group since 2001, but in 2010 Lenzing purchased a 75% controlling interest and since then has initiated extensive investments in capacity enlargement. Anti-trust approval for the takeover had already been granted.

Alfred Hannes Heinzel, the Heinzel Holding GmbH CEO, commented on the contract signing as follows: “The sale of the Biocel Paskov pulp mill represented an important strategic decision for the Heinzel Group and we are reinvesting the sales proceeds in the expansion of our portfolio in Austria. For example, in 2010 we acquired Europapier AG and thus markedly consolidated our key position in global pulp, card and paper merchandizing. In addition, with our pulp mills in Pöls and Estonia we also occupy a strong position in the production field.”
