Alfred Heinzel, chairman and CEO of the Heinzel Group, has announced the construction of a new paper machine at the Pöls site. The total investment volume amounts to 115 million Euros.
As a result of the purchase of Europapier AG and the complete takeover of AS Estonian Cell, in 2011 the total volume of Heinzel Group sales rose to 2,250,000 tonnes.
In line with a long tradition, at the end of March 2012, the Heinzel Holding again issued an invitation to a gathering at the Albertina Museum in Vienna in order to join management, the Supervisory Board and a select circle of guests in reviewing the past financial year and taking a look into the future.
The Austrian based Heinzel Group in 2011 has set further steps in consolidating its industrial position in Europe and expanding the global sales network after the acquisition of its merchant operation Europapier in late 2010.
On 05 May, 2010 Mondi Group has signed an agreement to sell Europapier AG to Heinzel Group. The deal is subject to approval by antitrust authorities. It has been agreed that the new owner, Heinzel Group, will take over 100% of Europapier's shares and therefore be the sole shareholder.
