Mark Lunabba CEO Laakirchen Papier AG says goodbye after 17 years
Thomas Welt to take over commencing 01. January 2018

Mark Lunabba went into well-deserved retirement at the end of 2017. He has held the responsible position as Board Member in Laakirchen for the past 17 years.
 
The milestones of his career were the construction of the PM11 during 2000 to 2002, the crisis management of the major fire at the PM10 in autumn of 2015, and as a major highlight, the successful conversion of the PM10 from SC paper to corrugated base paper this year.
 
Under the leadership of Mark Lunabba, Laakirchen Papier underwent strategic reorientation which has provided the location with long term security.
 
We would like to thank Mark Lunabba for his achievements and wish him all the best for his new phase of life and above all, good health.
 
At the same time, we are happy to announce that Mr. Thomas Welt, Production Manager PM10 and PM11 since July 1, 2016, will now succeed Mark Lunabba as CEO of Laakirchen Papier AG from January 1, 2018 onwards.
 
Thomas Welt was born in Germany in 1964 and completed his training as a "papermaker" and in industrial engineering at the University of applied sciences in Munich. Following this, he studied at the Institute of Paper Science and Technology in Atlanta and completed his studies with a dissertation.

We were impressed with Thomas Welt during the reconstruction of the PM10, where as Project Manager he had ample opportunities of proving his leadership skills.
